The sinuses are not actual “structures” in the body, but rather, pockets of air that exist in the cranium. There are four sinus pockets (or “cavities”) in total, and when the body is performing optimally, mucus easily flows through these cavities in order to keep them free of bacteria. Unfortunately, however, these cavities can become “blocked” and therefore, the mucus cannot flow. When the mucus cannot be drained, the experience is a painful inflammation known as a sinus headache.
Treating Sinus Problems
Conventional medicine typically focuses on temporary relief of sinus congestion through anti-histamines and decongestants. While these can sometimes reduce swelling, they also often lead to side effects, including dry mouth, dizziness and drowsiness. Furthermore, even when effective, these methods don’t treat the root cause of the problem; they relieve symptoms and provide some pain-relief. The problem, however, will almost inevitably occur again some time in the future.
At the Centre for Integrated Health our treatment of sinus problems, like all other health conditions is based on looking at the underlying cause, which may be bacterial, due to viruses or due to weakness in other organ systems or general immune deficiency.
For 15 years, Mrs. “M” suffered from severe sinus problems. She constantly felt lethargic and run down. She regularly experienced headaches and swollen eyes and she also suffered from severe asthma and loss of smell and taste. Conventional medicine had provided her with drugs, CT scans, and had finally resorted to putting her on the waiting list for surgery.
Before her surgery, Mrs. “M” contacted us. We performed an Asyra scan, which detected some nutritional deficiencies, and many food sensitivities. Since Mrs. “M” was from Asian descent, we even tested some specific unusual food spices that she and her family had been using to establish if she was reacting to any of them; and if so, which ones. As a result, we were able to develop a health programme for her, and within 3 months, all of her symptoms were gone! Her consultant was amazed, and she was removed from the surgery waiting list!
If you’ve suffered from sinus problems, we don’t have to remind you just how debilitating and agonizing they can be. We also realize that you’ve probably experienced many conventional medical “remedies”; some of which may have worked temporarily, but none leading to lasting relief. We invite you to call us and learn more about how our advanced screening technology and resulting individualised health programme can target the root causes of your sinus issues.
